Ora Banda Mining Limited (ASX: OBM) has reported exceptional exploration results at its Little Gem prospect, confirming a significant greenfields gold discovery.
Big Hits Below Surface
Recent drilling at Little Gem has delivered two wide, high-grade gold lodes at 400 metres depth, marking a major breakthrough for the Riverina Gold Camp. Highlights from drill hole LGDD25005 include:
- 22.7m @ 5.0g/t gold (incl. 6.2m @ 10.8g/t) in the Diamond Lode
- 10.9m @ 6.4g/t gold (incl. 0.95m @ 55.9g/t) in the Ruby Lode
These results build on the initial discovery hole (LGDD24001), which intercepted multiple gold-rich lodes, with assays of up to 7.4g/t gold over 4.6m.
Game-Changing Exploration Model
Geological studies indicate that the high-grade gold mineralisation is hosted within a carbonate unit, similar to the Sunraysia deposit located 4km south of Little Gem. This finding expands the exploration potential, as the mineralisation appears to be lithologically controlled rather than just structurally controlled.
With this in mind, Ora Banda has committed to an aggressive 16-hole drill program to test a 4.7km strike zone between Little Gem and Sunraysia.
Next Steps: Drilling to Expand the Discovery
The new drill program will:
- Target carbonate-rich gold zones over a 4.7km strike length
- Test depth extensions to 400m
- Cover 7,300m of drilling over 10 weeks, with assay results expected within 4 weeks
Managing Director Luke Creagh is confident in the potential, stating:
“These latest discovery intercepts at Little Gem are landmark because they reveal a new, extensive target zone—more than double the strike length of the known Riverina orebody. We are very much looking forward to seeing what this next phase of drilling delivers.”
With high-grade gold confirmed at depth and a large-scale drilling campaign underway, Ora Banda’s Little Gem discovery could be the beginning of something much bigger.
