Key Appointment to Drive Next Phase of Growth
Peninsula Energy Limited has announced the appointment of George Bauk as its new Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective 20 January 2025. This leadership transition follows the structured succession planning process initiated after the current MD & CEO, Wayne Heili, announced his intention to step down in 2025.
Mr. Heili will transition into the role of Technical Advisor, ensuring the smooth ramp-up of the Lance Project and continued focus on long-term production targets.
About George Bauk
George Bauk brings over 30 years of leadership and operational experience in the uranium, rare earths, gold, lithium, and graphite sectors. His proven track record includes:
- Successfully leading companies through exploration, project development, and production phases.
- Raising over A$670 million in financing through equity, debt, and government grants.
- Building strong industry and political connections across Australia, the USA, and global markets.
Mr. Bauk previously held roles such as:
- Executive Chair at Thunderbird Resources.
- Non-Executive Chair at PVW Resources and Lithium Australia.
- Managing Director and CEO of Northern Minerals Limited (2010–2020).
He is well-positioned to steer Peninsula through its next phase of growth and establish it as a leading North American uranium producer.
Wayne Heili’s Legacy
Having served as Peninsula’s MD & CEO since 2017, Wayne Heili has been instrumental in:
- Unifying and leading the team to overcome challenges.
- Restarting operations at the Lance Project, positioning the company to provide secure and sustainable uranium supply for the low-carbon energy future.
