Pro Medicus Limited (ASX: PME) has announced a significant milestone with the signing of a $33 million, 9-year contract between its U.S. subsidiary, Visage Imaging, and the University of Kentucky (UK) HealthCare. This deal marks Pro Medicus’ continued growth in the North American academic healthcare sector, further cementing its position as a leader in cloud-based medical imaging solutions.

Key Details of the Agreement

  • The contract covers the Visage 7 Enterprise Imaging Platform, which includes:
    • Visage 7 Viewer
    • Visage 7 Open Archive
    • Visage 7 Workflow
  • The platform will replace UK HealthCare’s existing PACS and vendor-neutral archive systems.
  • The solution will be fully cloud-based, aligning with Pro Medicus’ CloudPACS strategy.

The implementation is set to begin immediately, with a planned go-live date in Q2 2025.

Expanding Reach in Academic Healthcare

The University of Kentucky HealthCare is a premier academic health system in the state, encompassing the UK Albert B. Chandler Hospital, UK Good Samaritan Hospital, and an extensive network of clinics and specialized services. The integration of Visage 7 into UK HealthCare’s infrastructure will enable streamlined enterprise-wide diagnostic imaging, fully integrated with the system’s electronic health records (EHR).

Dr. Sam Hupert, CEO of Pro Medicus, highlighted the importance of this contract:

“University of Kentucky joins our growing list of academic clients and becomes part of a broader trend toward fully cloud-based solutions. The strength of our CloudPACS strategy is evident, and we’re proud to offer a full-stack solution that meets the complex needs of leading healthcare providers.”

Transactional Model with Growth Potential

The agreement follows Pro Medicus’ transaction-based licensing model, providing a scalable and flexible framework with potential upside. This approach continues to drive adoption among major North American healthcare institutions.

Strong Market Momentum

This deal further reinforces Pro Medicus’ momentum in the North American market, where its pipeline remains robust across all segments. The trend toward adopting the full Visage product stack—comprising viewer, workflow, and archive—has been evident in recent contracts, a pattern the company expects to see continue.

With this contract, Pro Medicus is poised to strengthen its foothold in academic healthcare, a market segment that demands cutting-edge technology and innovative solutions.
