Pro Medicus Signs AUD $330M, 10-Year Contract with Trinity Health: Expanding Cloud-Based Imaging Solutions Across a National Healthcare Network

Pro Medicus Limited (ASX: PME), a global leader in health imaging technology, today announced a landmark agreement with Trinity Health, one of the largest not-for-profit health care systems in the United States. The deal, valued at AUD $330 million, spans 10 years and marks a major milestone in Pro Medicus’ continued growth, especially in the North American healthcare market.

Under the terms of the agreement, Visage Imaging, Inc., Pro Medicus’ U.S.-based subsidiary, will replace Trinity Health’s existing legacy Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) with the Visage 7 Enterprise Imaging Platform. This comprehensive contract covers a range of solutions, including Visage 7 Viewer, Visage 7 Open Archive, and Visage 7 Workflow, all of which will be implemented across Trinity Health’s extensive network.

Trinity Health operates in 26 states, with a total of 93 hospitals, 107 continuing care locations, and 142 urgent care sites. The system is supported by more than 127,000 employees, including 9,300 employed physicians and clinicians, making it one of the largest and most complex healthcare organizations in the U.S.

Contract Details and Scope of Implementation

This agreement is structured around a transaction-based licensing model, with the potential for additional revenue upside as the platform scales across Trinity Health. The full migration process will see Visage 7 replacing the existing PACS infrastructure currently supported by nine different vendors.

In addition to providing a unified diagnostic imaging platform, Visage 7 will be integrated with Trinity Health’s electronic health record (EHR) system, allowing for enterprise-wide distribution of imaging data to clinicians across the health system.

Cloud-Based Transformation

A significant feature of the contract is the cloud-based implementation of the Visage 7 platform, a growing trend in North American healthcare IT. Trinity Health, like many recent clients of Pro Medicus, has opted for a fully cloud-based solution to improve operational efficiency, reduce on-premises infrastructure costs, and enhance data accessibility for clinicians across its wide geographic footprint. The cloud-based deployment will ensure that the imaging solutions scale effectively as Trinity Health’s network continues to expand.

Project Rollout Timeline

The phased implementation of the Visage 7 platform is expected to begin in early Q3 of 2025, with a series of multi-phase go-lives to be executed across Trinity Health’s locations. This timeline is based on the proven, scalable implementation process that has been successfully deployed in previous large-scale healthcare projects by Pro Medicus.

Key Strategic Win for Pro Medicus

This deal represents Pro Medicus’ largest contract to date, both in terms of value and scale. The contract expands the company’s footprint significantly within North America, solidifying its position as a major player in the enterprise imaging market.

Speaking on the significance of the deal, Dr. Sam Hupert, CEO of Pro Medicus, said: “Trinity Health is our largest customer to date and the first with a national footprint. This initiative is noteworthy for its scope and scale, which will see the Visage 7 platform used by over 650 radiologists and thousands of clinicians. The proven differentiation of Visage 7 will greatly benefit these professionals and ensure that Trinity Health remains at the cutting edge of medical imaging.”

The Visage 7 platform is known for its speed, scalability, and ease of use, offering radiologists and clinicians a powerful tool for diagnostics. The new system will deliver faster image retrieval and viewing, increased workflow efficiency, and improved collaboration among clinicians, ultimately enhancing patient care.

Continued Expansion Across North America

Pro Medicus has been making significant strides in North America, particularly within Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs), which include large hospitals and healthcare systems. This deal with Trinity Health underscores the company’s success in penetrating this market, with cloud-based solutions becoming the standard for healthcare providers looking to modernize and streamline their operations.

Dr. Hupert also highlighted the company’s strong market pipeline, stating: “Our pipeline remains strong and spans all market segments. As seen with many recent contracts, this deal is for our full-stack solution, comprising all three core Visage products, a trend that we see continuing as we expand our reach.”

Financial and Strategic Outlook

The agreement is expected to significantly boost Pro Medicus’ recurring revenue base, with a notable portion of the deal dependent on transactional licensing, providing an opportunity for ongoing growth. The deal will also open the door for Pro Medicus to engage with additional healthcare systems across the U.S., expanding its cloud-based enterprise imaging solutions across more hospitals and clinics.

Looking ahead, Pro Medicus remains focused on strengthening its position in the North American market, with plans to continue expanding its client base in integrated delivery networks (IDNs) and other key healthcare sectors.
