Wildcat Resources (ASX: WC8) is keeping its drill rigs busy, with strong exploration momentum across both its flagship Tabba Tabba Lithium Project in WA and the Mt Adrah Gold Project in NSW. The company has reported a fresh batch of shallow lithium hits and is pressing ahead with new targets in both regions, backed by a hefty $63.6 million cash reserve.
At Tabba Tabba, exploration drilling at the Hutt and Chewy pegmatites continues to deliver encouraging near-surface results. Highlights include:
- 33m @ 1.4% Li₂O from 29m
- 27.6m @ 1.1% Li₂O from 8.4m
- 18m @ 1.6% Li₂O from 53m
These pegmatites lie above the giant Leia pegmatite and are being prioritised due to their potential inclusion in early-stage mining. If they slot into the early schedule, they could help reduce the overall strip ratio — a win for the project’s economics. Wildcat is currently drilling metallurgical holes to feed into its ongoing Definitive Feasibility Study.
But it’s not just about Tabba Tabba. Wildcat’s also turning up the heat on its regional Pilbara portfolio. The company has identified two drill-ready prospects at Bolt Cutter Central and Bolt Cutter West. Bolt Cutter Central, in particular, is looking promising, with surface rock chip samples returning up to 4.67% Li₂O. High-resolution magnetics and detailed mapping are revealing compelling structural and geological features that mimic other major Pilbara discoveries.
Meanwhile, over in NSW, Wildcat hasn’t forgotten about gold. At Mt Adrah, the team is preparing for exploration drilling, underpinned by a sizeable existing resource of 770,000oz at 1.1 g/t Au. Previous drilling at Hobbs Pipe includes standout hits like:
- 886m @ 1.2 g/t Au from surface
- 826m @ 1.3 g/t Au from surface
And at the nearby Castor and White Deer reefs, ultra-high-grade intercepts have also been recorded, including 10m @ 17.7 g/t Au and 1.2m @ 58.6 g/t Au. Wildcat has allocated $1.3 million for exploration at Mt Adrah this calendar year, with geologists already on-site mapping and advancing drill permitting.
Geology Manager Torrin Rowe summed up the strategy nicely:
“While progressing the newly defined resource through a PFS, the team continues to advance targets with exploration drilling planned in the Pilbara, WA as well as at Mt Adrah, NSW.”
With a robust balance sheet and a two-pronged focus on lithium and gold, Wildcat is staying true to its explorer roots — and showing no signs of slowing down.
