This approval marks a significant milestone following an extensive environmental assessment, consultation, and review process that began in 2019.

- The Worsley Mine Development Project will ensure continued access to bauxite resources, sustaining production at Worsley Alumina, one of the largest alumina refineries globally.
- This project will help maintain Worsley Alumina’s competitive position in the global alumina sector and support its significant role in the South West of Western Australia, where it is a major employer, providing jobs for thousands of workers and contractors.
